The Rotarian Singles Fellowship was started in Oakland, California in 2007 by Charter President Marlene Daniels. to provide a networking experience for Single Rotarians.
This is a delightful way to share ideas, make travel easier and more economical by sharing room expenses, provide support for Rotary service activities, make lasting friendships and practice the ideals of Rotary
The fellowship was seen as being formed of Chapters, groups of Single Rotarians within limited areas or within Districts, and it is hoped that members will get together to form Chapters. Currently the fellowship provides an opportunity for Singles to get together at RI Conventionsfor fun and fellowship. We try to have a booth in the House of Friendship which can act as a central meeting point. When Chapters form they can do this at District Conference and as often as they wish during the year. Chapters can also carry out projects.
Since being formed we have had a booth in every Rotary International Convention where we meet together for meals and trips out. We also hold our Annual General Meetings at the Convention.
In 2010 Rotarian Gary Winzler became President.
In 2011 Rotarian Lawrence 'Tris' Tristram took over as President when gary left to get married.
